| September 2010 "New Salsa night in Torquay" |
We are very happy to announce a new weekly dance night in Torquay... open to all... and FREE!! Starting on Thursday 9th September our two newest Abanico Salsa team members, Nick & Rachel, will be hosting a weekly Salsa night at Hooks Bar & Grill . Time: 7.00pm - 12.oo midnight (Beginners classes from 7.30 - 8.30pm)

Here is our updated list of recommended practice tracks and resources for all Salsa dancers... Due to the nature of the record industry tracks appear and disappear on iTunes as labels are bought and sold... so please let us know if any links stop working in the future..! There are some great tracks on the music list, old & new, including the 'counting' track from Alex Wilson... Be sure to check them all out as there are at least 5 new additions to the list... All you need to do is click on the song title and iTunes will take you there (if you don't have iTunes click here to find out how to get it). 1. "Acid" - Ray Barretto More 'Timing CD' info... It's great to be getting more requests for "Timing CDs" from all of our dancers... you know how we feel about dancing on time..! We have tracked a UK supplier of some good timing and instructional CDs so that you don't have to worry about shipping from abroad - click the links to find out more... What these CDs do is isolate various instruments and rhythms for you to listen to - playing them alone or with a spoken count. The Mike Bello one also has some full Salsa tracks with a count dubbed over the top for you. |
